Going back in Time

I WISH TO GO BACK IN TIME I wish to go back in time, but not for the reasons some would. I don't want to change things about my life as I have gotten used to the good and bad parts. But to go back to where I just lived would be great! Wondering what I am talking about? I am talking about when you got up in the morning ready to face the day and just lived. I long for the days of going to my job as a twenty year old, and even on the bad days appreciating that I had a job. A job that afforded me to get out on my own and live in my own apartment, pay for my own car, have control of everything about my life.  When I look back, I was pretty young and already taking care of myself and yet I didn't have a care in the world. I didn't stress over anything, and that is the Gods honest truth. Here I was paying bills, buying groceries, paying rent, car payments, power.....living on my own and I didn't stress, I just lived. That was back in the late 80's.  What is so different ...

Thinking out Loud

I am finding a new Table....God is preparing it for me! It is the end of the year once again, time to get things in order. I like organization, but the one place that gets unorganized the most is my office space.  I make little notes of things I wonder about, or Bible verses to look up or to look closer at and at the end of the year I see half started lists of things.  I wonder why I start these things, that appear to be very beneficial, but somewhere along the line I stop making time for them. It is actually funny what I learn about myself and what I must have been thinking at different times throughout the year when I find these little treasures. I found a note that said "I am not broken, I do not need fixed." Another that said, "Stop trying to please people, just keep pleasing God." That last one though, hmmm, we all fall short sometimes don't we. Being human isn't so fun when you think about it. We are not perfect, we make mistakes.  But we also have t...

Where Have I been?

Wonder Where I have Been? I started this blog with so many ideas of what I wanted to share, and all at once I hit a writers block. My mind suddenly was unsure of what to share.  As a new blogger, I have difficulty seeing if anyone has read my post or even cares to.  So perhaps that is part of the reason for this block. I still have many thoughts on many topics, but then think....who cares what I think, or who wants another page telling them some ones opinion.  Don't we already have enough blah blah blah coming into our minds daily with the media and social media? So I won't share my opinion on anything today, I will just share what I have been doing. Well I started that new weekly "job" of watching my two adorable Grandbabies while their Mama works a part time job at our local coffee shop. I have learned from this experience a few things about myself.  Where do I begin?  * I learned that although I am a retired preschool teacher, where I taught a room full...

I WANT TO BE A INFLUENCER.....KIND OF

I WANT TO BE AN INFLUENCER Doesn't every one these days?  Oh you see them all trying to become famous by posting things about how to wear makeup, lose weight, be a perfect Mom, Be a guy that gets all the girls, Becoming a Girl Boss....Or Boss Babe. Yeh, society now a days is all about being an influencer.  But for me, I want to be a influencer of a different kind.  I want to see young girls feeling and knowing they are beautiful just as they are.  I want to see Mama's feeling loved and supported in the hard parts, but to be sure that loving their child is most important.  I want to see guys happy to get one nice, christian girl and be content to not keep looking to add more to his list.  I want to see women becoming strong while remaining feminine in the title of running their own business. Have you noticed that most influencers are all about comparing you to their idea of things.  "This is how you should wear your makeup so guys will like you, this is...

The Greatest Compliment

The Greatest Compliment Recently my Grand-babies Mama took on a part time job.  Three days a week, about 9 hours a day.  The girls are almost 3 years and 1 1/2 years old.  The stage of learning independence and wanting to be in control of their own little lives.  Most run from this stage often called the "terrible twos", but I am a weird one, I feel using the term "terrible" while speaking of children sets a label that isn't a nice thing. My point in even commenting on the stage is because anyone that has raised children know that during these developmental stages, parenting is not for the faint of heart.  Children this age will test you, and grin while doing it.  Pretty sure that is where the saying "you sure are lucky you are cute" came from.   I studied Child Psychology in college as well as Child Development.  My courses were geared towards wanting to counsel children. I think perhaps because as a child I often felt misunderstood.  A...

HOW TO LIVE SLOW IN A HURRIED WORLD

HOW TO LIVE SLOW IN A HURRIED WORLD Raise your hand if you often feel overwhelmed and exhausted before you even step out of bed.  I would bet to say that you are not alone.  I recently started a Bible Study with my girls called, "Growing Slow" by Jennifer Dukes Lee.  We are only on the second chapter, so I am still learning how to "grow slow" but it has brought, (in just the intro and first chapter), to my realization how hurried we all really are becoming. Some where in all the growth in technology, we have made life more difficult rather than the original plan to make life easier.  People always think drugs or alcohol, when they hear the word addict.  Most would even state proudly, "I am not an addict!"  But lets be honest here, we are all addicts .   We all feel this need to be connected to a million people through a million devices and social media platforms.  Add to that, whether we want to admit it or not, we want to keep up with everyone. ...

Books, Books and More Books

Books, Books and More Books Books, I love books.  If you read my Bio, I mention that as a child the Librarian used to have to tell me I had a limit on how many books I could check out each visit.  In our big farmhouse, I have a library of bookshelves full of books. One can never have to many books is my motto. I love most books, Fiction, Non-fiction.  I do not care for science fiction, perhaps because I most often can't wrap my brain around most of that type writing.  I do not have a brain that understands science fiction books.   As a child I loved books like the original "Boxcar Children", "Little House and the Prairie", "Pippy Longstocking", "Madeline", "Caddy Woodlong". As a teenager, I was drawn to poetry and young love type novels, such as "Sooner or Later", "Are you their God? it's Me Margaret?", "Peter and Veronica", "Stawberry girl".  As a young Mom I found myself purchasing mor...
